Sri Lanka Gem Heritage, Wildlife & Adam's Peak Tour

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) and transfer to the lush eco-hub of Kitulgala. Check into your accommodation and unwind with a leisurely nature walk, or participate in optional adventures including white-water rafting, canyoning, birdwatching, and exploring the prehistoric Belilena Cave.

After breakfast at the retreat, journey to Rathnapura, famously known as the world's City of Gems. In the evening, visit an active gem mine to observe firsthand the traditional methods and machinery used in Sri Lankan gem extraction.

Spend the day delving into the gem trade. Tour local gem lapidaries to watch precision gem cutting and polishing, visit the local Gem Museum, and walk through the bustling open rough gem market.

Set out to explore the cascades surrounding the region, including Dehena Ella, Beruwatta Ella, and Kandurugala Ella. Rest during the late afternoon and prepare for the midnight pilgrimage climb up Adam’s Peak (Sri Pada) for the sunrise.

Complete your descent from Adam’s Peak and drive south toward Udawalawe. Embark on an afternoon jeep safari across Udawalawe National Park to observe wild elephants in their natural habitat and visit the renowned Elephant Transit Home.

Enjoy an early morning safari to spot roaming herds, raptors, and endemic wildlife. Following the safari, travel south to the coastal town of Mirissa, check into your beachside hotel, and spend the evening relaxing by the ocean.

Enjoy two days at your own pace along the southern coast. Spend mornings on optional blue whale and dolphin watching cruises, visit a marine turtle conservation hatchery, or take a guided walking tour through the cobbled streets and colonial ramparts of UNESCO-listed Galle Dutch Fort.

Following breakfast, check out from your hotel in Mirissa and transfer via the southern expressway to Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo for your onward flight.
